La Funivia dei Grand Montets e Lognan è fuori uso. La salita è a piedi o 4x4 da Argentiere fino a Lognan e poi a piedi.

Lvalle dell’Argentiere è solcata dal lungo ghiacciaio omonimo e dei Gands Montets. E' probabilmente il bacino glaciale più famoso del Monte Bianco per la serie di grandi pareti nord che chiudono il suo lato sinistro, Les Courtes, Les Droites, La Verte. Il versante destro, oltre ad essere il balcone sulle nord, offre montagne di indubbia importanza costellate da alcuni splendidi monoliti di rosso granito fessurato. La Vierge dell'Aiguille d'Argentiere è il più significativo, un piccolo Capucin in mezzo al ghiacciaio di Milieu. Le pareti sono esposte a sud e nelle stagioni favorevoli sono già scalabili in primavera. La funivia parte da Argentiere e raggiunge la stazione dei Grands Montets a 3300 metri. In primavera l'approccio è rapido: con gli sci si scende il ghiacciaio fino al letto dell'Argentiere, poi si punta al rifugio omonimo girando a sinistra per il Milieu sul lato destro orografico fino alla base della Vierge (2 ore). La discesa segue la classica dei Grands Montets lungo il lato sinistro del ghiacciaio fino a deviare per Lognan. In estate il percorso è più lungo e faticoso. Dal Colle dei Grands Montets si scende sulla sinistra del primo gendarme per raggiungere la fiancata rocciosa (ometti e bolli gialli) fino al letto del ghiacciaio. Si punta al rifugio di Argentiere il cui sentiero sulla morena destra si lascia per salire la traccia debole sulla morena sinistra del ghiacciaio di Milieu. Si attraversa sotto la testa del ghiacciaio per ghiaioni fino al lato opposto e, per nevaio, si giunge alla base della Vierge (3 ore). Il ritorno percorre lo stesso itinerario fino alla balconata rocciosa sotto i Grands Montets. Si risalgono i bolli gialli (grande triangolo giallo) tenendo la destra e si traversa per sentiero attrezzato alti sulle seraccate. Il sentiero conduce poi di nuovo sul letto glaciale fino alla mulattiera che taglia verso il Lognan (2 ore 30).

The lift stations of Grand Montets and Lognan are out of order. The only approach is walking from Argentiere to Lognan and Argentiere Hut.

The Argentiere valley and its glacier are one of the most popular mountaneering areas of the Mont Blanc. The north faces of Les Courtes, Les Droites, La Verte are well known all over the world. Nevertheless also the right side of the Argentiere offers an interesting climbing scene with red granit rock walls. La Vierge of the Aiguille of Argentiere is one of these, a small Capucin in the middle of Glacier de Milieu. The south faces are often ready for climbing in the spring. The approach begins at the upper station of Grands Montets lift (3300 m), in the spring a fast run by ski leads to the Argentiere Hut (1 h). One more hour needs to the base of la Vierge. The return follows the cross country ski line on the Argentiere left side glacier to the Lognan station. In the summer the approach is more complicated by down walking the Grand Montets glacier leftwards of the first pillar to the rockband, where stones and yellow signes lead to the flat glacier. The walk follows first its left border,and crosses it to the right moraine reaching the base of Milieu glacier before the Argentiere Hut. The final scramble follows the left side of Milieu, crosses it under glacier front, hikes on snow to the base of La Vierge (3 h). The return follows the same line to the rock band with big yellow signes under the Grand Montets. Hike up the track keeping right (cable and stairs), than down again on the glacier to the final trail which leads to Lognan station (2h 30 m)

La Vierge (3306 m) è un contrafforte della Aiguille di Argentiere che svetta a metà del ghiacciaio di Milieu. Le pareti sud ospitano varie vie attorno alla linea prima che è il diedro sud (Bettembourg). Reve de Singe. Salita quasi interamente di fessura nel migliore stile Vogler. Molto sostenuta e fisica, i gradi di difficoltà dichiarati da Vogler sono generici. Il secondo, quarto e in particolare quinto tiro sono un grado sopra al 5° di Police de Glacier, al 5° di Maudit Blues; sono paragonabili al 8° di Echo des Alpages (5.11c-5.11d). Saison d'Enfer. Sale a destra dello scudo centrale, più facile e adatta alla stagione primaverile, topo in MBSC2019 at a glance. La Vierge (3306 m) is part of the Aiguille de Argentiere, standing in the middle of Milieu glacier. Climbing routes are on its south face. Reve de Singe. It is a strenuous jam crack route, a creation of R. Vogler in his best shape. The reported french grades fit bad with real difficulties if compared with other Vogler's crack routes in Mont Blanc. 5.11c-5.11d is the range for the crux pitches. Saison d'Enfer. It climbs right of the main shield and may be a apprpriate choiche for the spring-ski season, topo in MBSC2019 ata glance.

Le Minaret è la punta più rilevante della bastionata dell'Aiguille d'Argentiére sul ghiacciaio des Amethistes. Le Versant Satanique segue una articolata linea di fessure che conduce a superare la grande grotta e raggiunge due splendide lunghezze di incasto-mano che portano alla cima. Le Minaret is a well known peak belonging to the east side of the Aiguille d'Argentiére facing to the Glacier des Amethistes. Le Versant Satanique follows a series of dihedrals and cracks leading over a big cave. Two last gorgeous hand jam pitches go to the summit.
